Agreement- the Key to Victory

The Word of God is a covenant, an agreement, 66 Books of one contract. A detailed account of what God has promised us if we obey and serve Him (Job 36:11). Unfortunately this agreement has been hid; and if not hidden it has been misunderstood or misrepresented. Many of us don’t understand our covenant rights and benefits. And if we don’t have a clear revelations of what it means to be in a covenant with our Creator, then we cannot possible understand what it means to be in agreement. And if we don’t understand agreement, then how can we be victorious? How can two walk together except we agree (Amos 3:3)?
What does it mean to be in agreement?
The word agreement means: a contract or a covenant – harmony or accordance
An agreement, usually formal, between two or more persons to do or not do something specified.
So you see, how can we agree with God to do something or be something we don’t understand? The Bible says that we should be like the Bereans who searched the scriptures. The book of Timothy also tells us to study to show ourselves approved by God. When we want to make something is a career or profession, we usually go to school, study, make it our “major” and attend school for several years. And yet, we sometimes as “professionals” only open our Bibles on Sunday, look at the scriptures for a sermon, go to seminary for a few years, but we need to continue in the Word.
Do you know that with the simple gesture of harmony with God’s Word you can change your destiny? Look a little closer at these scriptures:
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. (Emphasis mine)
Matthew 18:19 (NIV)
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (Emphasis mine) John 15:7 (NIV)
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. (Emphasis mine) 1 Corinthians 1:10 (NIV)
So how can we agree with God?
1. Obey His Word
Read it, speak it, meditate on it and give ourselves totally to His Word- His Promises (John 17:5, Joshua 1:8, 1 Timothy 4:15)
2. Serve Him
Serve Him in accepting His direction, be responsibility to teach others and have His compassion. (Proverbs 3:5-7, Mark 16:15-20, Acts 10:38)
If we continue in His Word as Jesus said, then we are His disciples (disciplined people of God). In the past we have be tricked by the Enemy but now it is time for us to wake up out of our sleep to be who God has called us to be-a mighty supernatural people called forth to change our world. So let’s agree that we will obey and serve Him.
